I have learned a a lot about dinosaurs in these Carole Marsh books.
For one thing, there are a LOT more dinos than I ever imagined. Scientists are still finding new species all the time!
There are dinos that are like birds, and dinos that are like fish, and dinos that are HUMONGOUS, and some that are quite small. They lived all over the earth!
And they lived on earth a long, long, long time ago. Like millions of years ago.
What happened to them? No one is quite sure, but it seems a meteor smacked into Earth and made a kind of environmental disaster than ended up killing all the dinos. Sad, huh?
We learn about them from their fossil remains—bones.
Bones—that’s what I like! (So does my dog, Diggy.) Hunting for them is a challenge since they are often buried deep in the earth. Real deep. But new discoveries are made all the time—sometimes the WHOLE dino!
If you visit dinosaur museums, you may see some!
